Abstract

This paper explains the relevance that Hannah Arendt’s work has for the understanding of problems in contemporary societies. It focuses on explaining Arend’ts analysis in “The Origins of Totalitarianism”. In that work, the author considered totalitarian regimes as a defeat of human plurality. She analyzed as well the management of superfluous human masses and the concept of the banality of evil extended to the anonymous complicity of population
