TRES IDEAS RECIBIDAS SOBRE EL TERRORISMO

Abstract

The current discussion over terrorism seems to burdened with some received ideas that should be reviewed. Of them, three are put forward: (1) the claime radical novelty of what is called “global terrorism” or “hyper-terrorism”, which supposes the attacks of September 11th, 2001 as a turning point. (2) The impertinence of the debate over the reasons, and above all the political reasons, of international terrorism. (3) Finally, the identification of security with the struggle against terrorism, given the evident multidimensionality and complexity of the notion of human security.
