Abstract

This essay analyses the Green Book proposals, to update Labour Law, relating to the advisability of reformulating the approaches on the two aspects of employment politics. Specifically, its confidence in efficient active politics, which help people to execute transitions to new jobs, reducing periods of unemployment. Its postulates are criticized due to, it is said, its implementation would demand a deep revision on how Public Services of Employment work, of the coordination among the national and autonomic services and the real effectiveness of the different measures, which are comprised in the active politics, particularly those of formative character. Therefore, it would mean doubting the excessive weight of contributive levels of unemployment protection in the different legal systems. In the end, some thoughtful critics are made on the scope of the euphemistically so called Green Book
