“FLEXIGURIDAD” Y ESTABILIDAD EN EL EMPLEO

One of the key aspects of the debate on “flexicurity” that the Green Paper seeks to promote is the configuration of employment protection legislation, both with regard to the configuration of the temporary contracts and with regard to the discipline of dismissal. After an account of what are the demands of “flexicurity” in either field, the present study shows the “formal” evolution in this direction by the Spanish labour law. However, it also discloses the existing dissociation between legal purposes and the actual accomplishments, trying to diagnose its causes and make proposals that help to overcome it.
