LA LUCHA CONTRA EL NARCOTRÁFICO: A LA ESPERA DE UNA ESTRATEGIA EFECTIVA

Abstract

One hundred years after the Shanghai Opium Commission established the international prohibition of narcotics, we see that this policy did little to discourage drug traffickers; the criminal activity of drug traffickers corrupts all levels of society and trafficking prevention initiatives are not sufficient to tackle this phenomenon, which is linked to organized crime and supported by globalization. The time has come to promote coordinated and realistic initiatives that address all angles of this criminal phenomenon
