Abstract

Th e following refl ections, general and of course incomplete, off er a critical view of Spanish universities today and their Law Schools and studies. We also propose (without much hope) some guidelines for improvement. Our refl ections are divided into three parts. In the fi rst part we pilot a diagnosis of the main ills that aff ect fundamental aspects of university life and venture to suggest some of the causes. In the second part, we off er a summary of ten proposals for the remedy of these ills. Th e third part focuses on Law Schools and studies in our country, with a critical view of the current situation. We propose a shift in focus to bring about a better training, one that better integrates the body of legal knowledge into a whole (rejecting excessive compartmentalisation), along with theory and practice.
