Abstract

After analyzing fi ve possible approximations to the deontological rules, this paper sets out a concept of “professional ethics” that includes the social, moral and legal norms that, without having a mere technical character, regulate a profession. Th e relief of professional ethics appears in the measure in which the professional role needs and justifi es conducts that are opposite to moral general norms and it is what has generated certain peculiar social, moral or legal norms. Legal professions are analyzed under this point of view, focusing on the opposite role of attorneys and judges.
