Abstract

A global health crisis such as the current one caused by COVID-19 may be the trigger for changes in world food markets that, once again, cause increases in the prices of basic foodstuffs. These rises especially affect the most vulnerable populations on the planet, whose economic capacity lacks the means to deal with such a rise in prices. Taking into account that food security constitutes a true human right, it is necessary to analyze what instruments, especially global, we have to analyze and warn about price crises, about the orientation and policy mechanisms to anticipate and deal with these crises and what instruments are available to manage already caused crises.
